Orchidland Neighbors, a community-oriented, nonprofit organization, will host a dance party fundraiser from 7-9 p.m. June 24 at the Eagles clubhouse in Keaau.
“We will hold fundraisers like the dance parties to help pay for the two lots we recently purchased on 36th Street off of Orchidland Drive which will house our newest project — a farmers market and community resource center for Orchidland,” said Sharon Landry, president of Orchidland Neighbors.
“We were fortunate to receive donations from Councilmen Greggor Ilagan and Danny Paleka to help with the planning and permits we will need to begin this project,” she added. “Our dance party is designed to raise funds and awareness of the need for a community gathering place in Orchidland, beginning with the market.
“Orchidland Neighbors is grateful for all those folks who worked behind the scenes to help with this project, including our board of directors.”
Tickets for the Orchidland Neighbors Dance Party are available at the door for $10 or by calling Ginny Aste at 854-1225.
